About

GDA is a start up company build for locksmiths, the idea is to have a store on wheels with locksmith products. My role was to create a logo that coveys quality, loyalty, and thus reflects the industry.

Logo Process

Final logo

The client required elements in the logo to be focused on the automotive/tool industry, They also required the initials GDA. The process of the logo began with digital sketches focusing on blending tools/automotive elements with the brand’s name. before finalizing the logo I had meetings with my clients to ensure we were meeting expectations.

Outcome

The final logo has a racing car feel which envelops the whole concept of a "store on wheels". The tool adds a unique touch to make the logo memorable.

I created some applications of the logo as well as a branding guide for future use. Creating the brand design puts in place a bigger picture for the stock holders and future investors.

GDA User persona

Sketches

I began by creating a user persona based on the research I previously had. However, more research was needed to complete it.

High fidelity mockups

Understanding the way the user will navigate the app is a crucial step before creating my mockups.

Low-Fidelity mockups

I visualized my ideas by creating low-fidelity wireframes on FIGMA, to be able to have the developer test it and get his insight.

Outcome

During the meetings I was able to advice the stock holders on how the products can be displayed in order to create a cohesive and consistent brand, as well as ideas and templates for social media and printed advertisement. While doing my research I realized that most locksmiths are not very tech proficient when it comes to computers or phones but interestingly enough, they have a lot of key scanners that use technology and they are able to learn quickly, I took the concept of the scanners into consideration to build the app.

One of the challenges for this project was working with multiple stake holders with different opinions, we often had to note down the pros and cons to come to a solution. It can also get tricky to obtain the information needed to complete the app particularly and once I have the information it can be tricky to put it in place to make sense to anyone. I also discussed with the stake holders other pages that can be added to the app such as a build-in key programming help book in which they can charge a monthly membership fee.
